Aqua Pics - sounds like a slide show of my favorite lakes - NOT!
In reality, aqua-pics are small plastic containers used by florists to keep flowers fresh. You fill the plastic container with water, put on the flexible rubber top and insert your favorite plant stem.
I use these to transport plant stems, flowers and attached caterpillars to my butterfly garden programs. It's easy for the audience to hold the aqua-pic and pass it around the room. |

They are also good in raising caterpillars. If you just put a plant stem or leaf in a container, it will dehydrate and dry up quickly. If you insert the stem of the host plant into an aqua-pic, it will stay fresh for many days.
You can find these not only at a florist, but also many grocery chains which have floral shops. Cost -- twenty-five cents.
