Rabbits

One year, rabbits were my nemesis.
They have taken a liking to my Pipevine, Blazing Star, Malva, Zinnia and Willow to name a few. It's aggravating to watch my beautiful flowers being mowed down by Peter Cottontail.

Here are a number of solutions which help to a certain extent.
I use "Repellex"...a spray which they find distasteful, but is expensive and washes off.
I surround individual "special" plants with chicken wire or plastic fencing.
I also use green plastic file crates to protect certain plants.
I've even read about trapping live rabbits using carrots as bait, but haven't wanted to go to this extreme.

You could fence the entire garden area, and that may be the only permanent solution especially if deer are also a problem, but I have 14 different smaller gardens and fencing is too ugly.

Do you have a different solution you'd like to share?
I'm looking for ideas you have personally tested and know work.
